Oana Baloi, landscape architect
I have graduated BSc Landscape Architecture at University of Agronomic Sciences and Veterinary Medicine Bucharest, MSc in Landscape Architecture and Planning at Wageningen University and experienced in Climate Change Planning and on Urban Low Emission Development in cities in Asia, Africa and Latin America. I am currently working as Urban Management Expert in field coordination of the spatial planning and infrastructure component for a new durable settlement for refugees and host communities, leading the small field office of UN-Habitat in Turkana County, Kenya.
I am a former board member of International Student Organization Wageningen, an European Landscape Architecture Student Association alumni (or a senior), currently the editor of International Federation of Landscape Architects Europe and a very active writer, speaker, facilitator and brainstormer in initiatives and projects related to managing an urban environment,in particular low emission development, climate justice, food security, urban water works, wetlands creation and protection, and landscape architecture.
I am officially based in Kakuma, Kenya, but often in motion across continents.
